introducing HSD an Educational Projection

Mi dear friends around the world,

It has been almost 10 years carrying a dream in my heart, just waiting for the right time, the training, the "go" from heaven.

And here I am, ready to pay the price, ready to learn, ready for a small beginning of a huge dream... So come along with me and follow us in your thoughts and prayers, because the Lord once said

"I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." John 10.10 KJV

Why HSD?
HSD stands for Honoring Santiago & Damaris. It stands for my parents, the two people that could raise three daughters with very little resources but teaching us christian values that would stand beyond financial status, society levels or social influence. They taught us about books, theater, music and art in a place were neither of those are as important as to watch a soup opera or complain with the neighbors at nights. So, they three of us are now serving the Lord just as we learned, happily, and we have never had the resources to showing to them how much they have seeded in our lives. I want to honor them farther then now with this educational project in our beloved Honduras. They thought us to believe in God and His perfect plan for everybody everywhere. He is the one who can give us better lives, better societies, better generations!

VISION
To generate positive changes applying biblical and Christ-centered principles and a high quality education to impact society.

MISSION
To form integrated people, equipped to fulfill the redention plan of God.

Context  and statistics

Honduras has 7.6 million of habitants. The distribution of the total population by residency, is 50.5% of habitants in the urban areas and 49.5% in rural areas, the 36% of total population is under 14 years old. The 26% of the population is under 10 years. (Estadisticas de BCIE)

The nation faces the greatest difficulties in the matters of security and governability. Honduras has the highest leves of criminality in centralamerica and the homocide leves are in the highest in latinamerica.
The leves of illiteracy is of 15.2% amoung 15 years old and older.  But at the end of 6th grade, only 2 our of 3 students have finished the cycle in the primary school level.  The academic achievement  percentages for 7th graders are: 62% in spanish, 32% in mathematics. Statistics say that 6 out of 10 young people in Honduras are not receiving any studies or trainning. 7 out of 10 unemployed are young adults.

The resources for education are limited, this produces agglomeration and very little equipment. In another add, teachers are not well trainned nor specialized. The assigned percentage over the last years has been of 5.4%  from the (PIB Producto Interno Bruto). In other words, a national newspaper (El Heraldo) posted “The government investest only L.19.00 (less than one Usdollar) daily per student. 70% of the boudget goes to salaries.

Nutrition specially afects  25% of the infants under 5 years and it. 66.2%  of the population are under the line of poverty, and around 45.3% of those are under extreme poverty conditions. The inequality on the distribution of the honduran social rent apply 0.6% of the national income to the poor and 43.4% to the rich.

Jesus said that we would always have the pour amoung us and it is a reallity in every country. But the intention of it is not to take away responsability from our shoulders, and make us forget. The social system given to Israel, God’s people, was planned so they had a sistematic way to share to them, and help. It was stablished for the families to give their children a high value formation. It is the believers' responsability to follow this demands from God everywhere.

There is a movement started a few years ago to invest in education. Some of this proyects come from a few churches, most of them offering a private high quality education. But the mayority of the social proyects come from out of the country. Still most of the missions projects focus on food, shelter and I thank God for this initiative. Although I believe that the only way we can garanthy a self sustained future in such circumstances is if we train people the best that we can, this includes culture art, sports, values, and over all the Word of God.

Development objective

A.  The HSD educational project will provide high quality education to the children under extreme poverty and willing to take the challenge of getting the best out of the system.
B.  The HSD educational project, along with IVV (Instituto Verdad y Vida) will train ministers and church volunteers in rural areas of Honduras and central america applying the extension programm and other resources.
C.  The IVV will provide the plataform for short and long term missions to take place and develop its service in Honduras. HSD will simultaneuosly train american students in the spanish language.

God’s plan for family and society is a Christ centered life and a life lived in plenitud. I want to help this future generation to be well educated, well trainned, with the right resources to become functional, away from delicuency, dependence from others, charity, etc. To form a new generation of hondurans that love God, love the country and live their lives according to God’s principles for life, family, society.

IF YOU WANT TO GET INVOLVED PLEASE WRITE ME PERSONALLY TO mrs_bardales@gmail.com and I will tell you more specifics. As I said at the beginning of this long post (my apologies!), it is a small beginning of a huge dream and I just pray I obey God and glorify Him in every step of the way!

I have been dreaming and praying about this for over a decade since we were both exposed to the reality of our children through Dan Moran Ministries, whom I will always be thankful for.

Now our church is supporting the project spiritually and lending us to use the kids area during the week whenever we are ready to start.

Now I am praying for other crazy godly vocational teachers to get involved, the support to give them an economical offering and the supplies to attend at list 20 children under 7 years old with Bible, english, fine motor development classes and music.
